Mixed Culture Brett Beer Aged In Oak With Nectarines
Tasting Notes: Fresh Picked, Ripe Nectarine, Puckering Tartness, Fruit Cup, Peach Cobbler
Named "the perfect beer for wine drinkers" by Hop Culture, the newest release in our Eternal Return series of beer-wine hybrids features whole nectarines from Toigo Orchards in Pennsylvania. Our intent is to take the very best organic fruit our region has to offer and let the fruit of that farm's labors co-mingle with our house culture into a completely unique beer. The complexity of fruit character can't be replicated with anything else but the real thing.
All Eternal Return releases are long-aged beers. This one's no exception and in fact goes WAY back. The nectarines for this beer were harvested last summer (August 2020) and transported straight from the orchards post-pick to our brewery in Brooklyn, where they were sliced and placed in a tank with three select barrels of aged saison. That saison, originally brewed in August 2019, had already spent twelve months in wine barrels with our house mixed culture. After aging and re-fermenting with nectarines for six months, we bottle conditioned for a further six months to develop natural carbonation. Complex acidity, funk and naturally fermented nectarine character are our (most importantly, your) reward for a beer that's always well worth the wait.
We recommend trying it alongside Thought Experiment Nectarine, a Saison Ale brewed reusing the same nectarines used in Eternal Return.
