About the Position:

Threes at Franklin and Kent barbacks must have the ability to move and work efficiently in a busy environment with multiple points of sale. As the key support staff for the bar at Franklin and Kent, they are responsible for the set up and the breakdown of the bar and food/condiment stations before and after regular service. The barback is expected to maintain a clean and well-stocked bar throughout the shift for the benefit of both bar staff and clientele. They also assist in bussing the floor as needed and running food. As a customer-facing employee barbacks are expected to be friendly, hospitable and invested in each guest's experience, even if they are not the direct point of contact.

Barback Role:

This role requires the ability to handle the demands of several roles at once. Time management, organization and preparation are the key to success. The better organized you are the less frantic service will be. This job requires you to pay attention to the customers and the bartender as to anticipate what the bartender needs before they need it. This goes for the floor as well.

Duties include: 

  • Juicing for all bartenders for the night
  • Cutting garnishes
  • Stocking bar with liquor, beer, wine soda, juices, etc...
  • Keeping the lowboys clean and organized
  • Filling ice bins throughout the evening
  • Clean and shine glassware
  • Taking out trash throughout service
  • Loading kegs into the beer walk-in
  • Change kegs and keep the walk-in organized
  • Refilling garnishes, cocktail napkins, straws
  • Keeping the dry storage area organized
  • Upkeep of all surfaces on and behind the bar, as well as the entire space
  • Cleaning and resetting cocktail equipment throughout service
  • Bussing tables as needed
  • Running food as needed
