10% of proceeds go towards The Trust for Governors Island
We release Public Property once a year to help raise money for The Trust for GI, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization whose mission is to transform the island into a vibrant resource for New York City, making it a destination with extraordinary public open space, as well as educational, not-for-profit, and commercial facilities.
We've refreshed the recipe from last year's beer towards something more quenching and suited for surviving a sweltering heat wave, with a lower ABV but still hoppy. Brewed with two of our softest and most flavorful hops, Nelson Sauvin and Mosaic, you get big notes of papaya, gooseberry, blueberry, and Jamba Juice in a beer that's still crisp and very drinkable.
While The Trust's mission has always been a worthwhile cause, it goes without saying that given the current situation, the need for public space for New Yorkers is more urgent now than ever and will continue to be. If you haven't had the chance to visit us (and our friends The Meat Hook) out there, we highly recommend it. Ride the ferry from the city and catch a breeze. Open-air, tree lined space can be good for the soul.
